You’ve been missing Randeep Hooda after seeing him in Chris Hemworth’s Extraction, here’s some good news – the actor is all set to do what he does best while challenging a different kind of stereotypes. The Bollywood-turned-Hollywood star will next be seen in Unfair & Lovely a family entertainer on India’s tried and tested tropes of everything fair and the debate of colorism that has cropped in the recent discourse. Needless to say, from seeing mainstream B-town actors don a black face to a film that might and most probably will address our insecurity with our natural skin and color, now that’s something I will fans will want to see including yours truly!
The best part is that Hood is pairing up with actress Ileana D’Cruz for the first time to fight color discrimination. However, the Barfi star is reuniting with Mubarakan writer Balwinder Singh Janjua’s who is turning director with this venture. Sharing her excitement about the same, D’Cruz took to Twitter and exclaimed that she is thrilled about the reunion. Not just that, she also made a pertinent point that read, “Kabhi socha hai ki hero ko hamesha heroine ke gore gore gaal hi kyun beautiful lagte hain? Well, yeh soch hui purani, it’s time to be #UnfairNLovely.”
