After tickling viewers in Simmba, the crackling actor-director duo of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty is all set to reunite again for a comedy drama. And this time around, they will give a spin to William Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors. Titled Cirkus, according to Pune Mirror, the film will be Shetty’s reimagining of the Shakespearean classic and if their previous stint was any indication, it is going be a fun ride. Although, the filmmaker is known for his trademark-ish commercial cinema tropes, it is often enjoyable. And with the acting prowess of Singh in the mix, it is safe to say that Cirkus is already a highly-anticipated film of 2021 cause that’s when it comes.
Reportedly, the film will go on floors next month and will be shot in Mumbai, Ooty and Goa. And hopefully, it will arrive in theatres in time. While elaborate details about the characters and the plot are not revealed yet, pictures of their joining hands have taken over social media. And needless to, fans are thrilled to see them team up again for the third time.
Apart from Singh, the film will also star Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Siddhartha Jadhav, Vrajesh Hirjee, Vijay Patkar, Sulbha Arya, Mukesh Tiwari, Anil Charanjeett, Ashwini Kalsekar and Murli Sharma among others. Produced and directed by Rohit Shetty, the movie will be presented by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment.
But before that, Ranveer Singh will be seen reprising his role as Simmba early next year in Rohit Shetty’s police universe Sooryavanshi led by Akshay Kumar. OG Singham Ajay Devgn will also be seen making an appearance.
Meanwhile, the 83’ star will be seen stepping into the shoes of Kapil Dev for Kabir Khan’s directorial where actress and wife Deepika Padukone will star opposite him as Romi Dev. After getting pushed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the sports drama about India’s World Cup in 1983 is all scheduled for a Christmas release this year.
